Mission Moment - dental assistance

In this Mission Moment, a dental patient, a tiny lady in her 60s, was seen for assistance to remove a bad tooth. The tooth next to the one she had come in to have removed was also in bad shape, and the dentist recommended removing both of them, since the same area in her mouth would already be numbed from the antiseptic. She was hesitant because she didn’t bring the money for a second extraction. The dentist and assistant reassured her there would not be an additional charge due to the dental voucher program. She was relieved because she had been living with so much pain due to the bad teeth. She said that she was embarrassed to have put off getting anything done about her teeth. She said that she had called around to find out what the charges were in local dental offices, and she could not afford to have anything done about it. She said that someone at church told her about the clinic. Before she left, with her mouth numb and full of cotton, she stopped to thank all the staff. She said that she didn’t know what she would have done if the clinic had not been here for her, and she was very grateful to be relieved of so much pain her teeth had been causing her. She said finding the clinic had been such a blessing.
Thank you to all of our supporters who help make Mission Moments like this possible. We greatly appreciate you!
