Mission Moment - hypertension help

A female in her 50s, working part-time in a nursing home and without health insurance, was trying to manage her high blood pressure. She made several trips to the ER because she was worried she was having a heart attack. The ER gave her a prescription and sent her home each time. She continued to have issues and went to the Colbert County Health Department. They do not treat hypertension, but they called our clinic on her behalf. We were able to work her in right away. She received diagnostic lab work and saw the Nurse Practitioner, who adjusted her prescription.
The patient was very thankful to have a primary caregiver who would help her get her blood pressure back under control. The prescription she was given at the ER was $50 for 30 days of pills. At the clinic, her prescription at a more affordable pharmacy brought her costs down to just $7 for 90 days. She said that she was so thankful that she found the clinic and would be able to afford to take her medication.
Thank you to all of our supporters who help make Mission Moments like this possible. We greatly appreciate you!
